Walking In Faith Together While We're Apart

Posted by JJ Sherwood on

"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me."

1 Corinthians 15.3-8

Today is the most likely date of the first Good Friday, the day Jesus was crucified for the sins of His people. You can read an excellent article about that here. In days where news and information changes all the time, we have the hope in an unchanging message that Jesus Christ came to the world to save sinners by living perfectly in accordance with God's law, dying the death sinners deserved by being nailed to a cross, going into the tomb sinners deserved, and being raised to resurrection life as our Father vindicated His Son by the power of The Spirit! To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever!

As we continue to live out the Stay Home, Stay Safe order, we can be sure that the King of the ages still reigns and that those whom He grants faith and forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ will live and reign with Him forever! To help us endure to the end, we continue to seek out ways to encourage you in the faith. Lord willing, our Sunday worship services will continue to be made available, and we've also begun posting videos twice a week to equip and encourage you during this time. Trusting God In Times of Trouble and Restore Us, O God! were this weeks posts. You can also subscribe to our blog or like our Facebook page to stay up-to-date with us.

Finally, we invite you again this week to join us tomorrow for a day of prayer and fasting, not only for the global circumstances that surround us, but for the glory of the gospel of Jesus Christ to shine brightly in these dark days. The Gospel Coalition provided the leadership for churches around the world to come together to pray and fast. You can find the link here for help as Christian leaders and worship leaders will lead us throughout the day. There will be three primary times of prayer, so lease join us for a portion of the time if you're unable to do so all day long. May our Heavenly Father by the Spirit exalt the Son among our neighbors and the nations for the glory of His name!

"Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen!"
