Petra is a long-running neighborhood outreach in which we open the gym to men from our community on Monday nights for pickup basketball. Our aim is to forge relationships and share the gospel with our participants, who are predominantly 18-25 year old residents of Pontiac. We begin at 7pm by going over the rules, opening with a word of prayer, and organizing a roster of teams to ensure all the guys get time on the court. We stop play at 8:30pm for a 10-15 minute devotional and also offer drinks and snacks. Things usually wrap up around 10pm.
