Trip to Kisumu

Posted by Evelyn Van Sloten on with 1 Comments

A team of thirteen people will be travelling to Kenya in April to minister to orphans and their communities. There are five care points we will be visiting—there are fifty orphans ministered to on a weekly basis at each one—and we will spend two days at each location. We will have an opportunity to share the gospel, do crafts and activities that point kids to the truths of Scripture, and sing songs in Swahili and English! We are hoping to also spend some time doing care and compassion work at the local hospital and visit with patients there.

We look forward to experiencing a new culture, foods, and time together. A highlight for our trip will be spending time at the Becca Prange Minstry CarePoint, which will be during our second week in Kenya. As a church, we have embraced the children there through Christ’s Hope International’s sponsorship program and are supporting them in so many ways! We look forward to meeting with each child and sharing the hope of the gospel with them—the hope that gave Becca perspective during her time of suffering and an eternity now spent with her Savior.

Please pray for us as plans are made and details are coming together for our trip. Our team consists of Chip, Amy, Jessica, Julia, and Joshua Prange; Daryl, Renell, Ben, and Bradley Gingell; Chuck Cameron; and Alan, Evelyn, and Melanie Van Sloten.

This year we will be sending out short-term teams to Kenya, East Asia, and Detroit to partner with long-term endeavors that our neighbors and the nations might pursue their joy in Christ alone.

I will be praying for all of you on this very exciting trip, to see the good God has done in Becca's Car Point Ministry. This will be a very amazing and emotional time.
