Capital Campaign & Pastoral Search Update
During the Members' Meeting on May 17, we voted to extend a call for the Associate Pastor of Care & Discipleship to Tim Gosselin with 97% approval. Last night, Tim accepted the call and currently plans to begin his pastoral duties on September 1. We praise God for bringing the Gosselin's to Five Points as we seek to glorify God the Father through the Holy Spirit by pursuing our joy in Jesus Christ alone so that our neighbors and the nations will worship Him with us both now and forever! Please pray for Tim and Jenn as they begin to make preparations for the move to Michigan, as well as for much grace as they say goodbye to family, friends, and to a place that has been home for many years. We'll continue to update you on this process throughout the summer.
23 days ago, we broke ground for Phase 1 of our building project! We have 1 day left until the pledges are due for the remaining balance on Phase 1 and to fund Phase 2. We thank those who have already pledged towards this capital campaign, and we ask those of you who call Five Points home to join us with your pledges as we sacrificially give to see the Lord build a place on this corner that declares to the coming generations that the Everlasting Lord is our dwelling place.
Towards that end, we ask you all to fast and pray with us tomorrow that the Lord would establish the work of our hands as we seek to build a building on the corner of Squirrel and Walton that proclaims the everlasting glory of our God. It is a grand vision, but how great is our God? Pray with us that the Lord would establish the work of our hands for His glory, and join us in giving sacrificially for the completion of the Planting Joy vision.
Finally, we invite you to gather together tomorrow evening at 7pm for our last Bravehearts and Tapestry of the season. Dave Santos, a missionary from Brazil and a host of our Resolved: student ministries missions trips, will be teaching and we'll break tomorrow's fast together after our time in the Word and in prayer.
Praying with you for the Lord to provide for all He has called us to do!
Pastor JJ
