Our vision for the women of Five Points is the same as our vision for the entire church: to glorify God through the Spirit by pursuing our joy in Christ alone so that our neighbors and the nations will worship Him with us, both now and forever. Colossians 1:27-28 guides us in seeing this vision become reality: “…God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.”
As faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, instruction from the Bible is the primary way we proclaim Jesus and the lifeblood of gospel ministry. Matthew 4:4 says it this way: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Women's Summer Gatherings
This summer, all women are invited to attend gatherings hosted by women of Five Points. Our hope is that these gatherings will foster fellowship and community. These events are intended for women 18 years and older. No childcare will be provided. Contact Michelle Gardner (248-496-5091) with any questions. Please sign up here for the gathering(s) that you would like to join.
Women's Bible Studies
Join other women gathering together during the week to read the Word and pray together. Here are the current studies; contact the host or Petrina Oh for more information.
- A Bible study led by Elizabeth Whitley is going through the book Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers by Dane Ortlund. The group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 7-8:30pm at the Whitley home. Sign up is required. Contact Elizabeth for more information or directions.
From September through May, women come together once a month for Tapestry so that relationships and God’s Word can be further woven together. The purpose of Tapestry is to encourage one another to grow into maturity in Christ so that He might be praised and found to be the Supreme treasure in all of life.
The topic for this year’s Tapestry is Trusting The God Who Is: A Study of The Attributes of God.
If you enjoy serving by cooking and preparing meals, consider signing up to receive notification of when individuals and families would be helped to receive a meal due to illness, a new baby, or other situations where having dinner taken care of would be a big help.
