Serving Opportunities

We value gospel-centered service.

We believe the cheerful and sacrificial giving of our time and talents is part of our worship and a way to obey God's command to "love one another" (John 13:34-35). That’s why we value gospel-centered service.

There are a number of ways for you to use your gifts to serve the body of Christ for God's glory within and beyond the Five Points community. For even more opportunites to serve:

Find More Opportunities

If you are able to help with any of the following opportunities, send an e-mail to serve@5pointscc.org or contact the church office. An asterisk denotes the most pressing needs.

Ride to Church (2)

(Sundays)

A single woman would like to join us in worship on Sundays but needs a ride from her home in Pontiac near South Blvd & Woodward Ave. Contact the church office if you would be willing and able to help.

MACC Development Moving Help

(April 30 & May 7)

Help a community development organization started by Mack Ave Community Church get their building ready for renovations. They need help moving everything out of the building and into a storage container. Contact Deanne with MACC Development to sign up or for more information.

Camp Barakel Retreat Volunteers

(May 20-22)

Camp Barakel is needing more volunteers to help host the Spring Men's Retreat and Mother-Daughter Retreat the weekend of May 20-22. If interested in heading up to serve at camp that weekend, contact Dave Proper or the church office.

Mack Ave Retreat Childcare (6)

(May 20-22)

Serve a likeminded church, Mack Ave Community Church, as they go on a church-wide retreat to Attica, MI, the weekend of May 20-22. They are looking for six people to attend with them to provide childcare so their church members can more fully participate in the retreat activities. Room and board will be provided for volunteers. Contact Mason in the church office if interested. (You need to be an approved Children's Ministry volunteer or go through the approval process to serve in this capacity.)

*Prayer Team (8)

(1-2 hours per month, Sunday mornings)

Pray with a small group of people in the Library on Sunday mornings, asking the Lord to use the singing, praying, and preaching of his Word to do remarkable things in the lives of those in the service. This is a great opportunity for couples or Shepherd Groups. Currently, we are looking for people to serve on the first or fifth Sundays of the month. Contact Jim Novell for more information and to get involved.

Techies (2)

(2-3 hours per week, mainly on Sunday mornings)

Join a team of individuals who serve behind the scenes by providing for the audio and visual needs of our services, events, and activities. Training on how to operate the sound and video equipment is provided, so all that is needed is general technology experience and a desire to serve.

*Saturday Set-Up Crew (5)

(1-2 hours per week)

Our gym is set up and torn down by a faithful team every week for our Sunday service. Join a team of men who set up chairs in the gym on Saturday mornings.

Children's Ministry

(1-2 hours per week)

Help us further the mission and vision of the church as we encourage our children to pursue their joy in Christ alone. If you have administrative and communication skills, we are in need of individuals to help coordinate volunteers on Sunday morning, primarily during Bible Study Hour. There are other opportunities to help advance our Children's Ministry as well. Contact Julie Pittenturf to find out more.
