Serving Opportunities

We value gospel-centered service.

We believe the cheerful and sacrificial giving of our time and talents is part of our worship and a way to obey God's command to "love one another" (John 13:34-35). That’s why we value gospel-centered service.

There are a number of ways for you to use your gifts to serve the body of Christ for God's glory within and beyond the Five Points community. For even more opportunites to serve:

Find More Opportunities

If you are able to help with any of the following opportunities, send an e-mail to serve@5pointscc.org or contact the church office. An asterisk denotes the most pressing needs.

House of Jacob Food Drive

Our food pantry, House of Jacob, is doing a food drive for the month of October. Food donations can be dropped off at the back of the gym anytime during the week, or if you would rather give a monetary donation to cover turkeys and hams for the holiday season you can designate House of Jacob on your envelope or online giving. Contact Carolyn Stickney with any questions. Here's a list of recommended food donations:

  • Instant potatoes
  • Canned meats (tuna, chicken, etc.)
  • Canned fruit
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Fruit Juice
  • Hamburger/Tuna Helper
  • Velveeta (or any other shelf stable cheese)
  • Boxed cereal or oatmeal
  • Shelf-stable milk

*Prayer Team (8)

(1-2 hours per month, Sunday mornings)

Pray with a small group of people in the Library during our worship service, asking the Lord to use the singing, praying, and preaching of his Word to do remarkable things in the lives of those in the service. This is a great opportunity for couples or Shepherd Groups. Currently, we are looking for people to serve on the first or fifth Sundays of the month. Contact Jim Novell for more information and to get involved.

Techies (2)

(2-3 hours per week, mainly on Sunday mornings)

Join a team of individuals who serve behind the scenes by providing for the audio and visual needs of our services, events, and activities. Training on how to operate the sound and video equipment is provided, so all that is needed is general technology experience and a desire to serve.

*Saturday Set-Up Crew (5)

(1-2 hours per week)

Our gym is set up and torn down by a faithful team every week for our Sunday service. Join a team of men who set up chairs in the gym on Saturday mornings.

Children's Ministry

(1-2 hours per week)

Help us further the mission and vision of the church as we encourage our children to pursue their joy in Christ alone. If you have administrative and communication skills, we are in need of individuals to help coordinate volunteers on Sunday morning, primarily during Bible Study Hour. There are other opportunities to help advance our Children's Ministry as well. Contact Katie Carroll to find out more.
