Building & Capital Campaign Update

Posted by Brett Toney on with 0 Comments

Psalm 90:10 reads, “The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.” Because of how relatively brief and toilsome our lives really are, we ought all the more strive by faith to be satisfied in God’s steadfast love in all we do (v.14).

As we discussed the new building plans, timeline, and capital campaign at our members’ meeting on February 15, it is vital to keep Psalm 90 in mind. There are exciting developments with the buildings, but buildings aren’t what identify us. If the Lord is not our dwelling place, then any building is for naught. So, we ask for God’s favor to be upon us to establish the work of our hands (v.17) that generations from now will pursue their joy in God on this corner. We pray that these buildings point us beyond the walls to the Lord who is our dwelling place.

With that perspective in mind, here are some of the details we shared:

  • See below for the newly redesigned layout of the Phase 1 addition (offices, children’s ministry wing, commons). It is a more consolidated footprint that still meets our facility needs.
  • We are planning to begin construction on Phase 1 in May with anticipated completion by the end of October.
  • We nearly have the needed funding for Phase 1 already, so our new, multi-year capital campaign that we will formally launch in April will be to raise funds for the dedicated sanctuary of Phase 2. More information will be available soon about the campaign, but we will be asking for pledges to be turned in by Memorial Day.
  • We anticipate receiving approximately $400,000 in matching funds for the capital campaign. Every dollar given will be matched up to that amount by those funds.
  • We will be pursuing various means to fund Phase 2, such as sharing the opportunity with like-minded individuals, foundations, and grants.
  • Our goal is to begin construction on the sanctuary in Spring 2018.

Join us in praying for God to provide far more abundantly than we could ever ask or imagine.

Consider setting aside Thursday, February 23, for prayer and fasting as we seek the Lord regarding these plans.
